Morgantown Technical Services (MTS) is a coal mining equipment repair facility located near Morgantown, WV which specializes in the repair of longwall Roof Supports. MTS repairs over 1,200 supports annually with the scope of repairs ranging from simple "wash and wax" inspections to total refurbishment rendering "as new" equipment.

On site equipment includes (3) large boring mills, burning tables, automatic bore welders, and other machine shop essentials which supplement the rebuild process by permitting timely production of shield structural components. With virtually all rebuild activities and services performed within the MTS facility, rebuild costs are minimized.

Roof support structural and hydraulic evaluations are frequently performed and consist of total disassembly, shot blasting, MT inspection of critical structural elements and weldments, inspection of hinge pin fits, and load testing of all hydraulic components. Recommendations for structural reinforcement or correction of excessive hinge pin clearances are provided as part of this service.
